Executive Assistant

Hire, supervise and evaluate secretarial staff with the following responsibilities: greet clients/guests, answer phones, data entry, mail distribution, order supplies, check/cash logs, facilities management and any other duties assigned by Executive Director and Executive Assistant

Responsibilities
•Maintain all staff lists and organizational chart
•Monitor website (@info) email correspondence
•Monitor all Agency Credit Card Purchases & Documentation / Reconcile monthly statement
•Monitor Gift Card Distribution
•Administer office correspondence
•Monitor and approve invoices related to office operations
•Maintain petty cash account
•Manage office equipment
•Interface with vendors
•Establish, update and maintain office protocols
•Orient new staff / interns / volunteers to office protocols and issue building access key cards
•Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications
•Minimum of three years of experience in office management including staff supervision, and management of support operations
•Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
•Must be able to utilize the following equipment: computer, telephone system, copy machine, postage machine and security system
•Flexible schedule required
•Must have a car for local travel

Additional Information

Child Counselor – Children’s Mental Health

Our Children’s Mental Health Program provides trauma-informed services to children (ages 0-18) and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual abuse, teen dating violence, and commercial sexual exploitation. The Safe Center is seeking to hire a clinician who has experience working with children of all ages, including infants and toddlers. The Child Counselor will provide mental health services to children and families at our main office and at our domestic violence shelter.

Responsibilities
•Intake & assessments
•Individual, group, parent-child, & family therapy
•Crisis intervention
•Parenting support & guidance
•Advocacy
•Case management

Qualifications
•MSW or equivalent degree required
•Licensed or eligible for limited permit
•Clinical experience with children and families required
•Clinical experience with young children ages 0-6 strongly preferred
•Experience working with survivors of domestic violence & sexual assault strongly preferred
•Knowledge of attachment theory and infant/early childhood development required
•Applicants who have non-clinical experience working with parents and young children
(i.e. facilitating Mommy & Me classes) are encouraged to apply
•Training in play therapy and attachment based trauma treatment interventions
(i.e. Child Parent Psychotherapy, Theraplay) strongly preferred.
•Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred

Bilingual Human Trafficking/Rape & Sexual Assault (RSA) Case Manager

This position reports to the Director of Human Trafficking Programs and the Director of RSA.

Responsibilities
•Provide crisis intervention, support, case management services for victims of human trafficking
•Participate in on-call rotation for out-of-hours/overnight emergency response
•Assist clients in filing compensation claims, accompany victim/family to court, police, home visits, orient clients to the legal and court process
•Collaborate with the OVS Vocational Rehabilitation Unit and the NY Civil Legal Network
•Coordinate with medical team to connect victims to specialized medical examinations
•Conduct court assessments for those arrested for prostitution or charges acquired while being trafficked
•Maintain statistical records and case notes
•Other duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or Executive Director

Qualifications
•Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or related field
•One year experience in the areas of crisis intervention, information and referral and support
•Bilingual English/Spanish spoken and written fluency is required

Bilingual Domestic Violence Advocate

The Bilingual Advocate functions as part of a Crisis Center team that is focused on the safety and well-being of victims of domestic violence and rape/sexual assault.

Responsibilities
•Work primarily with domestic violence victims
•Make outreach calls to victims in response to police reports
•Respond to domestic violence and rape/sexual assault hotlines
•Conduct intake interviews
•Assess client needs and perform required intervention, including crisis intervention, advocacy, referral, and case management services

Qualifications
•BA in related field (extensive relevant experience without a B.A. will be considered)
•English/Spanish verbal and written fluency is a must
•Domestic violence and/or human services experience strongly preferred

Child Victim Advocate-Temporary Position

Bilingual Legal Assistant

The Bilingual Legal Assistant coordinates and oversees functioning of legal client services, collects and analyzes legal case statistics.
Responsibilities
•Interacts with the attorneys and other Legal Department employees, in-house pro bono volunteers and student interns/externs
•Schedules legal intakes for clients
•Schedules staff meetings and arranges for meeting room availability
•Assists the director and attorneys in scheduling appointments and legal Q & A sessions
•Maintains court calendars
•Collects, reports, and maintains statistical information
•Enters statistical information into Abacus and Butterfly
•Collects information for biannual LAV and OCA reports
•Coordinates intern/extern and volunteer schedules
•Coordinates, prioritizes, and assigns intern/extern and volunteer workflow
•Orders and maintains legal office supplies
•Scans all client correspondence and orders into client computer files
•Arranges, coordinates, schedules meeting room space, and schedules monthly Q and A Programs
•Complies with grant requirements

Qualifications

• Experience facilitating children’s support groups
• Experience working with victims of abuse/trauma
• Excellent clinical judgment and crisis intervention skills
• Ability to provide clinical supervision to group facilitators
• Experience with program development/management
• Strong organizational, networking, and communication skills
• Commitment to a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach
• Conversational or fluent in Spanish preferred

Requirements

•Associate degree or relevant experience is required.
•Paralegal degree a plus.
•Bilingual [English/Spanish a plus].
•Demonstrated commitment to domestic violence, victims’ rights and/or public interest.

Additional Information
This is a full-time position. Applicant will work in coordination and cooperation with the all legal assistants and attorneys.

Substance Abuse Case Coordinator

Responsibilities
•Receive and coordinate substance abuse reports from the Department of Social Services (DSS)
• Support DSS caseworkers in engaging caregivers in substance abuse treatment
• Build and maintain relationships with substance abuse treatment providers
• Facilitate Substance Abuse Task Force meetings and complete meeting minutes
• Coordinate and provide training to professionals regarding substance abuse
• Maintain statistical records and quarterly reports
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or Executive Director.

Qualifications
• Masters degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or related field
• 3 years experience in the areas of substance abuse and case coordination

This a full time position located both at The Safe Center and at Department of Social Services. A flexible schedule and use of car is required.

Coordinator of Group Work Services

The Coordinator of Group Work Services is responsible for the overall management of group counseling services provided to children and parents through the Children’s Mental Health Program.
Responsibilities
• Recruitment of group members both internally and externally
