Substance Abuse Case Coordinator

Responsibilities
•Receive and coordinate substance abuse reports from the Department of Social Services (DSS)
• Support DSS caseworkers in engaging caregivers in substance abuse treatment
• Build and maintain relationships with substance abuse treatment providers
• Facilitate Substance Abuse Task Force meetings and complete meeting minutes
• Coordinate and provide training to professionals regarding substance abuse
• Maintain statistical records and quarterly reports
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or Executive Director.

Qualifications
• Masters degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or related field
• 3 years experience in the areas of substance abuse and case coordination

Additional Information
This a full time position located both at The Safe Center and at Department of Social Services. A flexible schedule and use of car is required.
Salary: low 40s

Education Coordinator

Job Description
This position is dedicated exclusively to working with college campuses. The EIE education coordinator will deliver, or assist in the delivery of, a comprehensive student onboarding and ongoing education campaign to enlighten members of the institution’s community about domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and sexual assault. The EIE Coordinator will set up outreach tables at student centers with information about The Safe Center’s sexual assault services on a regular basis.

Responsibilities
• Create relationships with institutions we have not yet worked with and strengthen/ maintain
relationships with institutions we are currently working with
• Conduct periodic needs assessments and follow-up discussions with campus partners to identify how to best serve their
populations
• Coordinate outreach initiatives at each institution 2-3x per month throughout the academic year
• Collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to create on-going educational programming around sexual violence,
relationship abuse, bystander intervention, and Title IX
• Train faculty/staff in Title IX, reporting polices, responding to student disclosures, and sexual
violence/relationship abuse
• Train student leaders, athletes, incoming students, on-campus students, transfers, and any other special groups as
needed
• Facilitate classroom presentations/workshops as needed
• Assist in the creation and implementation of programming for Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October), Stalking
Awareness Month (January), Dating Violence Awareness Month (February), and Sexual Violence Awareness Month (April)
• Work with campuses to identify and implement appropriate evidence-based bystander training
• Coordinate and facilitate quarterly Nassau County Title IX meetings
• Collaborate with community partners to bring new resources and information to campuses
• Remain up to date with current events, relevant policy, and best practices regarding sexual violence and relationship
abuse on campuses
• Maintain up to date documentation of attendees and evaluations for each training and outreach activity under EIE
• Complete quarterly reports detailing EIE work
• Keep presentations, activities, and distributed materials up to date and relevant to the target population
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or Executive Director

Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience in the human services field. Must have a car and willingness to work a flexible schedule. Occasional nights/ weekends required.
Strongly preferred: Master’s degree and at least two years experience working with survivors of domestic violence/ sexual assault. Bilingual is preferred.

Coordinator of Group Work Services

The Coordinator of Group Work Services is responsible for the overall management of group counseling services provided to children and parents through the Children’s Mental Health Program.
Responsibilities
• Recruitment of group members both internally and externally
• Outreach and networking with local service providers
• Referral coordination and case monitoring
• Training and supervision of interns, volunteers, and staff
• Support group facilitation
• Mental health services including crisis intervention, assessment, and therapy
• Data collection and summary for grant reports
• Management of program budget

Qualifications
• Experience facilitating children’s support groups
• Experience working with victims of abuse/trauma
• Excellent clinical judgment and crisis intervention skills
• Ability to provide clinical supervision to group facilitators
• Experience with program development/management
• Strong organizational, networking, and communication skills
• Commitment to a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach
• Conversational or fluent in Spanish preferred

Requirements
• NY State Licensed Clinical Social Workers eligible to apply
• Group work knowledge and expertise
• Experience providing therapeutic services to children
• Position is Monday-Friday and evening hours are required
• Some local travel by car; mileage reimbursed
